Apart Research is a nonprofit AI safety organization. We develop research and evaluations focused on harmful manipulation by advanced AI. Through Sprints and Fellowships, we also help researchers, engineers, and domain experts turn promising ideas into rigorous research.
How we work
Our Research Division produces independent evidence about advanced AI systems. Our programs create structured pathways for more people and promising projects to contribute to that work.
Our research scientists and evaluation engineers define risks, develop methods, evaluate advanced AI systems, and translate their findings into useful evidence.

CEO
Before Apart, Jaime did robotics research, worked in software engineering, and founded a consultancy helping EA organizations with tech and data. He combines strong engineering with a deep understanding of machine learning and AI research.
Research Scientist
Jerome has developed evaluations and research tools at the UK AI Security Institute and Prolific AI Research, contributing to evaluations for impersonation, sandbox escape, and agent misuse, and supporting UK AISI's first frontier AI testing exercise. Prior to working in AI safety, Jerome developed applications for national security and defence at Faculty.
Research Scientist
Lorenzo worked on evaluation at the University of Cambridge for 3 years, at the same time advising the European Commission in supporting the implementation and enforcement of the EU AI Act in various capacities, most recently as a member of the AI Act Scientific Panel
Research Scientist
Before joining Apart, Adrián was a postdoctoral researcher and received a PhD in Computer Science at ELLIS Alicante, where he worked on trustworthy AI and AI evaluation. His research spanned algorithmic fairness, LLM safety, technical AI governance, human-AI interaction, and graph machine learning. His recent work focuses on sociotechnical risks in AI systems. He has also presented this work to research and policy audiences, including European institutions, and has contributed tutorials and community leadership in graph machine learning.
Evaluations Engineer
Akash has over two years of AI safety research experience, with first-author papers at ICLR (DarkBench, Oral) and NeurIPS. He contributed to Singapore IMDA's AI safety red-teaming evaluation report and most recently completed the Cooperative AI Research Fellowship.
Evaluations Engineer
Jaco has a background in ML engineering and has spent the past two years working on AI evaluations, including building agentic evals for the UK AI Security Institute and collaborating with its Science of Evaluations team.
Sprints Coordinator
Kamil brings R&D consulting experience to Apart Sprints, keeping operations fast and the quality high.
Fellowship Lead
Eitán founded AI Safety Argentina and was a facilitator and teaching assistant for the Center for AI Safety and ML4Good. He now leads research teams at Apart.
AI Infrastructure Engineer
Moïri was technical lead at PIA and built web platforms for nonprofits and the EA community. At Apart he builds the systems that route sprint talent to opportunities and funders.
