Programs

Start your AI Safety career.

Sprints are weekend research hackathons on one AI safety topic, remote-first, open to anyone in the world. Fellowships are months of mentored research towards a paper: the Apart Fellowship by invitation after a Sprint, Partnered Fellowships by direct application.

How our programs connect

  1. Anyone can join

    Sprint

A weekend in a team on one AI safety question, online or at a local site.

    Stand out

  2. Apart Fellowship

6 to 16 weeks on your own project, with a research project manager, compute and publication support.

  3. Leads to published research

    Published research

  1. In parallel, no Sprint needed
  2. Apply directly

    Application

Apply to a partner organization’s project: a written application, work test or interview.

    Selected by mentors

  3. Partnered Fellowship

About 16 weeks on the partner’s research agenda, mentored by its researchers.

  4. Published research

Papers at venues like NeurIPS, ICLR and ACL.

Sprints

About once a month, online and at local sites. Teams take one open AI safety question and, over a weekend, build something others can check: an experiment, an evaluation, a dataset or a tool. No AI safety background needed.
