The business case around avoiding non-compliance fines makes sense, and having a working prototype is definitely a strong point. However, while the technical implementation seems solid, I feel the scope might be a bit narrow for a full startup venture, especially given that major AI providers are likely working on similar solutions. The timeline could be more ambitious...if they've got a working demo in 2 days, they could probably move much faster with their development roadmap.

Personally, I think the biggest weakness is in the AI safety angle. While privacy is definitely important, this solution feels more like a traditional data security tool rather than addressing core AI safety challenges. The project seems to focus on immediate privacy concerns but doesn't really tackle the deeper AI risk problems we might face with more advanced systems. That said, I appreciate their thorough approach to implementation and testing, even if the scope could be broader. The research quality is solid for what it aims to do, but I'd love to see how they plan to evolve beyond just PII protection to address more fundamental AI safety concerns.
