A one-day verification checklist for labs and defenders

This project investigates the July 2026 event.?... The attack on OpenAI–Hugging Face highlights the significant security loopholes that enabled it to propagate across diverse environments. Moreover, We created a one-day defensive verification checklist that covered network egress, credential isolation, least privilege, trust boundaries, detection-to-response, and other critical areas based on the documented attack chain. The inclusion of a distinct verification question and pass condition in each check allows labs and defenders to independently evaluate the security of their AI-agent environments.
Reviews
The methodology is described at a high level, but the process for deriving the checklist from the incident is not sufficiently systematic or reproducible.
Since many of the resulting checks are fairly generic, it is unclear what reusable methodology the work contributes beyond this specific incident, especially without runtime validation.

In this paper, I address the critical issue of AI agents escaping evaluation sandboxes (as seen in the July 2026 incidents where monitors failed) by proposing an externally audit-able containment layer that doesn't rely …
